How to Make Sandwich Balls
I’m not quite sure of the origins of the sandwich ball but I know its been done in Japanese lunchboxes for ages and I for one think its a very clever idea, so I decided to give it a go a few weeks back and can now happily write up a tutorial for you all
Sandwich balls
You will need:
1. Bread, 2. Cling wrap, 3. A sharp knife, 4. Sandwich filling (I used cream cheese and avocado) 5. A mini muffin cup
Step 1.
Remove the crust from your bread (if you are looking for an idea on what to do with the crust click here)
Step 2.
Place a strip of cling wrap and the piece of bread in the palm of your hand, then place some of your chosen filling in the centre of the bread
Step 3.
Pull the sides of the bread up over your filling so it covers the top of it, then pull up the cling wrap and twist it until it gets tighter and tighter forcing the sandwich into a ball shape
Step 4.
Unwrap your sandwich ball and if done correctly it should hold its shape
You can then place it seam side down into a mini muffin cup or use it to make cute little heads or lions or anything really, below I’ve used 2 different size sandwich balls to make a snowman (I just cut a little extra bread off when I removed the crust to make the smaller head bit)
