I know Easter is still a few weeks away but I’m super excited about some of the awesome and fun ideas I have for some fun Easter treats, so lets kick things off with these adorable Easter carrot treat bags, you can fill these with anything you like provided its orange, I thought seeing as how most of my ideas aren’t going to be too healthy (you have to let the littlies have a treat every now and then after all) that I would fill the ones in this post with a toddler snack rather than chocolate eggs or another treat type food, carrot sticks would also look super cute in these and they would make a great gift for class mates too!

Easter Carrot Treat Bags

You will need:

Disposable piping bags

Green crepe paper

Scissors

Green wrapping ribbon (or a colour of you choice)

An orange food/treat of your choice (I’ve used Wiggles ricey bites)

How to:

I personally found that filling a whole piping bag was too big of a serve especially if you are going to fill it with treats, for me one of the tricks to allowing your kids a few treats every now and then is to make sure its portion controlled so I cut about 1/3 of the top of the pipping bag off and found this was a great size for what I was putting in it.

Cut some lengths of ribbon (as many as required) long enough to tie off the top of your carrot and still have enough left to curl

Next fill your treat bag/s with your chosen treat 3/4 of the way full and set aside

I hope this next step make sense as it was the only way to explain how much crepe paper to use, unroll your crepe paper so that 2 fold are unraveled, then cut this section off your roll of crepe paper. Then fold your cut piece back over using the fold already in it from being folded when bought.

Fold it over length ways again and cut where the fold is

Then place the sheets of crepe paper back on top of one another as they were when folded, loosely roll the crepe paper to form a tube

Grab your treat bag and place the tube of crepe paper in the top so that a small portion of it is sitting in the bag, pinch it tight and use your pre cut ribbon to tie it off and hold the crepe paper secure

Then its simply a matter of adding the finishing touches by cutting the green crepe paper tube into strips and curling the excess ribbon
